Description
Government of Telangana, General Administration (Ser.B) Department, vide G.O.Ms.No.74, dated 29.04.2026, has issued orders amending Rule 3 of the Telangana Ministerial Service Rules, 1998 relating to the method of appointment and promotion in the Revenue Department.
The amendment has been issued consequent to the introduction of the Telangana Grama Palana Officers Subordinate Service Rules, 2026 and the proposals submitted by the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA), Telangana, Hyderabad.
As per the amendment, a ratio of 60:40 has been fixed between Junior Assistants/Typists working in the Revenue Department at District level and Grama Palana Officers (GPOs) drawing the scale of pay of Junior Assistant, for promotion to the post of Senior Assistant in the Revenue Department at District level. The amendment is deemed to have come into force with effect from 12.02.2026.
The following rotation cycle has been prescribed for promotions:
1st Vacancy – Junior Assistant/Typist
2nd Vacancy – Grama Palana Officer
3rd Vacancy – Junior Assistant/Typist
4th Vacancy – Junior Assistant/Typist
5th Vacancy – Grama Palana Officer
6th Vacancy – Junior Assistant/Typist
7th Vacancy – Grama Palana Officer
8th Vacancy – Junior Assistant/Typist
9th Vacancy – Junior Assistant/Typist
10th Vacancy – Grama Palana Officer
The Chief Commissioner of Land Administration, Telangana, Hyderabad, has been directed to take further necessary action in the matter.
