In following are the existing orders issued on the policy on assignment of Government lands to the political sufferers:- 1. As per the orders issued in G.O.Ms.No.1743 Revenue Department dt;2-08- 1959, the political sufferers are permitted to sell away the lands assigned to them without imposing any condition. 2. As per the order issued in Government Memo No.B2/3220/59-2,dt:14-11- 1959, as far as possible, political sufferers shall be given lands in the districts in which they are residents and they shall be given at one time and in one place. They may also be granted lands in other districts. If lands cannot be granted to them in their districts. But the political sufferers of Andhra Region shall not be eligible for assignment of lands in Telangana region and vice- versa. 3. As per the orders issued in G.O.Ms.No.946 Revenue department dt;26-07-79 a political sufferer is eligible for assignments of government land upto Ac’5-00 wet or Ac.10-00 dry or Ac.15-00 dry in Rayalaseema Region irrespective of the extent of movable and immovable properties owned by him. 4. As per the orders issued in G.O.Ms.No.472 Revenue (Assn-I) Department dt;22-05-1993, the political sufferers are also eligible for assignment of House Sites to an extent of 500 Sq Yards in urban agglomeration, subject to their giving up claims for the allotment of agricultural lands and also subject to certain other condition stipulated therein. 3. Government have reviewed the policy of assignment of agricultural lands and house sites to political sufferers based on the decisions taken in the meeting held on 21-12-95 and 2-7-1996 under the chairmanship of Minister for Revenue. Accordingly government issued the following orders in partial modification of the orders issued earlier on the subject in the references 1st to 4th read above. 1. Agricultural land in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, and Ranga Reddy District cannot be assigned to freedom fighters, as the land in these districts is required for Government purpose. In other districts, whether land is available, it will be assigned as per existing scales/rules. 2. Assignment of land for agricultural purpose shall not be considered unless the land is available in the native village of the freedom fighter where it is not required for any public purpose and house sites. 3. Assignment of land for house sites will be made to persons (i.e. individual freedom fighters), but not to the society of freedom fighters. The house site pattas are inheritable. The freedom fighters are not entitled to alienate the lands. Requests of the spouse of the freedom fighter who expired may be considered later, children/legal heirs of the freedom fighters are not eligible for allotment of house sites. 4. A Maximum extent of 300 Sq Yards may be allotted as house site to the freedom fighters anywhere in the state, orders sanctioning freedom fighters pension may be taken as the basis for allotment of house sites. Fresh Jail certificates need not be insisted upon. 5. For the purpose of allotment of house sites, the region may be taken as a unit instead of District i.e., a freedom fighter can apply for house site in his native region (Telangana, Andhra or Rayalaseema). 6. Transfer of names of freedom fighters from their respective districts to districts like Visakhapanam, Ranga Reddy District and to her urban area shall be banned. 4. These orders shall into force with immediate effect. 5. All the collectors are requested to take action accordingly
