ASSIGNMENT - Land - Revised Assignment Policy - Amendment to G. O. Ms.No. 1406 Revenue, dated: 25-7-1958 - Issued.

NOTIFICATION: In exercise of the powers conferred by section 172 of the Andhra Pradesh (Telangana Area) Land Revenue Act,1317 F. (Act VIII amendment of 1317), the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby makes the following amendment to the rules relating to the assignment of Government lands issued in G.O.Ms.No.1406, Revenue, dated 25th July, 1958 and published at pages 771-772 of part II of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette, dated 31st July, 1958. AMENDMENT: For rule III of the said rules, the following rule shall be substituted, namely:- “III: Persons eligible for occupation or assignment of Government lands:- Lands at the disposal of the Government shall be assigned only to landless poor persons who directly engage themselve in cultivation. Preference shall, however, be given to Harijans, Girijans, Harijan Christians and other Backward classes in the matter of assignment of Government lands, without affecting
