LANDS – Government Lands – The Andhra Pradesh Government Land Allotment Policy – Adaption to the State of Telangana – Orders – Issued

Whereas by virtue of section 3 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 (Central Act No.6 of 2014), the State of Telangana comprising the territories specified therein has been formed on and from the appointed day i.e., of 02.06.2014; 2. And whereas, in section 101 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, a provision has been made for the purpose of facilitating the application of any law (as defined in section 2(f) of the Act), made before the appointed day, in relation to the State of Andhra Pradesh or the State of Telangana, the appropriate Government may before expiration of two years from 02.06.2014, by order, make such adaptations and modifications of the law, whether by way of repeal or amendment, as may be necessary or expedient, and thereupon every such law shall have effect subject to the adaptations and modifications so made until altered, repealed or amended by a competent Legislature or other competent authority; 3. And whereas, in the G.O. first read above, uniform guidelines with regard to Government land to be allotted for various purposes to different Government departments and private organisations both in terms of extent and rate were issued under the Andhra Pradesh Government Land Allotment Policy and are in force as on 01.06.2014. 4. And whereas, in the G.O., second read above, orders were issued constituting the ‘Andhra Pradesh Land Management Authority’ and vested with the powers of processing and recommending land allotment and with the task of monitoring the utilisation of land for the intended purposes and resumption of land in case of violation of conditions. The said ‘A.P.Land Management Authority’ is in existence as on 01.06.2014. 5. And whereas, after careful examination, Government have decided to adapt the said uniform guidelines issued in G.O., first read above with certain modifications. Government have also decided to adapt the ‘ Land Management Authority’ constituted in G.O., second read above to the State of Telangana and decided to include the Secretary, Legal Affairs, Legislative Affairs & Justice as Member in the said ‘Land Management Authority’. 6. Now, therefore, in exercise of powers conferred by section 101 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 (Central Act No.6 of 2014), the Government of Telangana hereby order for adaptation of the ‘Andhra Pradesh Government Land Allotment Policy’ and ‘ Andhra Pradesh Land Management Authority’ in force as on 1.6.2014 to the State of Telangana with modifications set out in the Schedule annexed to this order.
