ASSIGNMENT - Land - Revised - assignment policy - expeditious implementation - Orders -Issued.

I. In the rules issued with G.O.Ms.No.1406, Revenue dated the 25th July, 1958, for rule XIII, the following rule shall be substituted, namely:- “III. Powers of assigning authorities: The authorities competent to sanction assignment of lands will be the Tahsildars and the Naib (Deputy) Tahsildars in independent change of sub taluks in the case of dry lands not exceeding five acres in each case, and in the case of wet lands not exceeding two and half acres in each case. In the case of assignment to Co-operative Societies the Tahsildars and the Naib (Deputy) Tahsildars in independent change of sub taluks can exercise the above powers irrespective of the aggregate extent, provided that the share of each member does not exceed five acres of dry land or two and half acres of wet land. One appeal shall lie to the Revenue Divisional Officer against the orders of the Tahsildar or of the Naib (Deputy) Tahsildar. The orders of the Revenue Divisional Officer shall be final and no appeal or revision shall lie against his orders. In case of material irregularity Government will have the power to interfere and rectify the wrong. II. In the rules issued with G.O.Ms.No.1724, Revenue dated the 26th August 1959, Rule V shall be omitted”
