Description
The Government of Telangana has issued orders notifying the Telangana State Revenue Sub-Ordinate Service Rules, 2024, in supersession of the earlier rules issued in G.O.Ms.No. 990, dated 24.09.1992. These new rules define the constitution, method of appointment, qualifications, service conditions, probation, training, and postings for the cadre of Naib Tahsildars (formerly Deputy Tahsildars) in the State. As per the rules, appointments to the post shall be made through direct recruitment (30%) and promotion/transfer (70%), with the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration as the appointing authority. The rules also specify eligibility criteria, required departmental tests, training requirements, probation period, and zonal system for appointments. These provisions are aimed at streamlining recruitment, improving administrative efficiency, and ensuring proper regulation of the Revenue Sub-Ordinate Service in Telangan
